The first Dreadnought (named HMS Dreadnought) was revolutionary because it had an “All-Big Gun” armament, with main guns mounted in a position which could be bought to bear on both sides of the ship. [This one](http://i.imgur.com/INJVUlM.jpg) is a pre-dreadnaught since it has a significant proportion of its guns mounted on the side of the ship, and these cannot be bought around to fire on targets at the other side of the ship. Compare it to the [HMS Dreadnought](http://www.the-blueprints.com/blueprints-depot/ships/ships-uk/hms-dreadnought-1907-battleship.png), which has few weapons mounted on the side of the hull and instead it has heavy main gun turrets on the top, and all of these guns are of the same size. There’s a very important difference between them.
**Edit:** Dreadnought, not Dreadnaught
