Yeah, like with milled vs stamped AK receivers. Milled is stronger than stamped, but it does not matter in practicality. “A stamped receiver will last you a lifetime, a milled will last two” so to speak. Sure, milled may be “nicer,” but both work fine. Billet vs forged for ARs is a bit of a different animal and is more about rigidity than strength, but it is the same result as far as I’m concerned.

Basically what I was asking is, is this the same situation? Sure forged are *nicer*, but is it really inherently better in function? Or is it like milled vs stamped AKs (or billet vs forged ARs if you prefer) where one is “nicer” and more expensive but accomplishes the same task at the end of the day?
