That, and also the fact that current FAA regulations require non-vertical emergency exits to be within a certain distance for all passengers on an aircraft, so no flying wing aircraft where only overhead exits are possible for passengers sitting in the middle of the aircraft unless regulations are changed, which would be an uphill battle for a commercial aircraft with an entirely radical design. And in addition, research showed that passengers sitting further away from the middle of an aircraft experience more turbulence, while this isn’t a problem even in the widest body conventional aircraft, it would be a huge problem for passenger carrying flying wing designs. So these two obstacles, combined with the window problem, pretty much means flying wings will be great for efficient transport of cargo or bombs, but probably not passengers. But that’s okay because while I think flying wings are great to look at, they’re probably not so fun to ride in.
